first day of school | technically the end of summer

It’s hard to believe that the summer (well not the summer weather) is over. Today is the first day of school.

In some ways I am just amazed how fast time goes by. Isabella turned 7 on Saturday and today she is starting 2nd grade! I could swear it was just yesterday that we could hold her like a little tiny baby. Now I can’t even carry her to her bed if she falls asleep on the couch!

But as we pulled into the school parking lot this morning, Isabella asked for me to walk her into class – of course I loved that! Gabby and I walked her in, and she put all her things in her little cubby, hung up her back pack and was ready to start the day. My 2nd grader!

Then it was time to drop Gabby off at her classroom. Gabby starts her first day of Pre-K today. Honestly, there is no way this “yittle” girl could possibly be a year shy of kindergarten. Is there? She walked into the class room and several kids yelled out “Gabby!!” A real nice welcome. She settled right in and I made a quick exit.

Another school year begins!
